CeO2 /SiO2 coated rutile TiO2 and photocatalytic performance

Abstract: The CeO2-SiO2 coated rutile TiO2 was prepared by sol-gel method.The influences of slurry concentration,dosage of dispersants,and two kinds of coating agent contents on performance of CeO2-SiO2 coated rutile TiO2 were investigated by orthogonal experiment.The zeta potential,surface morphology,and elements were characterized by nano-ZS,scaning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and EDS.Results showed under conditions of the water bath temperature about 80 ℃,the rotation speed of 600 r/min,the mass fraction of dispersant of 0.1%,the CeO2 mass fraction of 3%,and the SiO2 mass fraction of 4%,two layers compact and uniform CeO2 and SiO2 films on the rutile TiO2 were confirmed. By the photocatalytic degration of Rhb,the results showed that the films of CeO2 and SiO2 enhanced the weather durability of rutile TiO2.
