Abstract: Theory of inorganic mineral clay supported nanoscale zero-valent iron(nZVI) has been introduced briefly.Six im- portant inorganic mineral clays,i.e.montmorillonite,rectorite,palygorskite,kaolin,bentonite,and zeolite, which used as the supporter of nZVI in China and abroad were compared and analyzed. The morphological characteristics of some of these clays supported nZVI and their effect of pollutant removal were presented. At last, some latest application innovations of several minerals to support nZVI,as well as their foreground and development trend were prospected.

Key words: nanoscale zero-valent iron, inorganic mineral clay, support
