Industrial practice of preparation of anhydrous sodium sulfide by reduction of glauber′s salt with coal

Abstract: Industrial sodium sulfide is an important chemical raw material and reducing agent.China mainly uses coal reduction glauber′s salt method in industrialization and mass production of industrial sodium sulfide.But the purity of sodium sulfide is only 60%,therefore the product′s added value is very low.On the basis of using the coal reduction glauber′s salt method to produce low iron sodium sulfide,the semi-finished product concentrated alkali solution was evaporated,concentrated,and crystallized again to produce sodium sulfide crystal and then it was desiccated to prepare the anhydrous sodium sulfide.The purity of sodium sulfide reached 92% under this process.The anhydrous sodium sulfide product extended the industry chain of sodium sulfide production.A small-scale industrial equipment,technical control conditions,and product quality for anhydrous sodium sulfide were mainly introduced.
