Study on joint-production technology of magnesium compound and potassium sulfate from dolomite

Abstract: In view of the shortcomings,such as long technological process,large equipment investment,low level of resource utilization,and not high additional value of products,in the existing comprehensive utilization methods,a new preparation technology of magnesium compound by sulfuric acid leaching of dolomite was studied and calcium compound generated in the acid leaching process was treated at the same time.Besides calcium carbonate,the potassium sulfate and ammonium potassium chloride agricultural fertilizer with higher added value and wider application was also prepared by this technology.Under the optimized conditions,conversion rate of nitrogen in ammonium bicarbonate was 93.82%,potassium conversion rate was over 80%,and total potassium yield was more than 98%.
