Abstract: Combined the advantages of microemulsion and γ-ray radiation, the expected inorganic-organic core-shell type nano-composite microspheres have been successfully synthesized by γ-ray radiation,at room temperature and under ambient pressure. The morphology of the product was controlled by microemulsion.Inverse microemulsion was made by employing an aqueous solution with ammonium molybdate as inorganic salt raw material, kerosene as oil phase, styrene as organic monomer, and octyl phenyl poly(ethylene oxide)-10(OP-10) and OP-4 as emulsifiers.MoO2/PSt core-shell nano-composite microspheres have been successfully fabricated via γ-ray radiating on the inverse microemulsion. The influence of monomer′s dosage and concentration of ammonium molybdate on product′s morphology was discussed. When the ammonium molybdate concentration was 0.05 mol/L,and styrene dosage was 2 mL,the core-shell structure of microspheres was clear, and particles were uniform.
