Abstract: Using Ce(SO4)2•4H2O and ZnSO4•7H2O as raw materials,(NH4)2CO3 as precipitator,nano-sized ZnO/CeO2 composite particles were prepared by direct precipitation method and heterogeneous precipitation method respectively.Products were characterized by XRD,FT-IR,and UV-Vis.Result of XRD indicated that the content of Ce was greater by the heterogeneous precipitation method than that by direct precipitation method under the same mix ratio of raw materials;result of FT-IR indicated that dispersion of the sample prepared by the heterogeneous precipitation method was better than that prepared by direct precipitation method because of coating of ZnO on the surface of CeO2;UV-Vis analysis showed that the two synthesized samples both had excellent UV absorption properties, but the bands were different: the sample prepared by heterogeneous precipitation method focused on UVA band, and the sample prepared by direct precipitation method focused on UVC band.Dispersion experiment in water indicated that the sample prepared by the heterogeneous precipitation method had a better dispersion than that prepared by the other method.
