Abstract:

Barium slag was treated by chlorination roasting-hot water leaching process using CaCl2 as chlorinating agent and the barium was recovered in the form of BaCl2 from barium slag.Through a series of experiments such as roasting temperature, roasting time and chlorinating agent amount etc.,the optimal technological conditions were determined as follows:the roasting temperature is 1 000 ℃,the roasting time is 45 min and the amounts of CaCl2 is 1.3 times of the theoretical value.Under the optimal conditions, the acid dissolved barium in barium slag was recovered completely with the recovery rate of barium at 86.8%. The main components of the leaching solution were BaCl2 and CaCl2.The product of BaCl2 is obtained by evaporating, concentrating and crystallizing, which quality meets the requirements of GB/T 1617—2014,Barium Chloride for Industrial Use.
