Abstract: Several commonly used forming additives for catalyst，such as binders，lubricants，peptizers，poreenlarging agent and strength modifier，were summarized.The application in different forming methods and the effects on different catalyst performances of these additives were also introduced.The features，main additive types used and forming product types of different forming methods were compared.The importance of forming additive for preparation and application of indu strial catalysts was emphasized.It suggested that further exploring the application value of the existing forming additive combined with advanced forming technology and developing new multifunctional forming additive is the future research direction.
