Stabilizer selection of cyanamide

Abstract: Cyanamide[H<SUB>2</SUB>N—C≡N\] is a main intermediate product in production of dicyandiamide.Due to the activity of—CN and—NH<SUB>3</SUB>,monomer cyanamide played an irreplaceable role in resin processing,pesticide,medical,and chemical industries,but it also combines into dicyandiamide quickly for the active groups,therefore,how to maintain cyanamide′s stability and activity became a problem.Cyanamide′s hydrolyze and polymerize conditions was researched and discussed.Results showed that its hydrolysis and polymerization were closely related to solution′s acidity and temperature.A solution for transporting and storing cyanamide has been proposed that phosphoric acid and sodium phosphate monobasic were employed as stabilizer,adjusted solution pH at 4.5±0.2,kept the temperature below 15 ℃.Through 70 d followup inspection,the mass fractions of urea and didymous were kept at about 0.04% and 1.22%,respectively,which were in accordance with the requirement of quality.Thereby, cyanamide′s stability and activity were effectively ensured when store or transport under these conditions.<BR>
