Process research and production practice of recovering calcium oxide from carbide slag

Abstract: <SPAN lang=EN-US style="FONT-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-font-kerning: 1.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 宋体">Calcium oxide recovery process with the carbide slag as raw material was studied,and its main course included pretreatment of raw material,impurity separation and carbide slag calcination and decomposition etc..Impurity and calcination process conditions were specially investigated,and results showed that: most impurities in carbide slag could be separated by adopting hydrocyclone impurity removal process and by controlling the flow rate at 0.10 m/s;and mass fraction of calcium oxide obtained under calcination at 900 </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: 宋体; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-ascii-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-font-kerning: 1.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">℃</SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-US style="FONT-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-font-kerning: 1.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 宋体"> for 5 h could reach more than 85%.It was proposed that a set of 10 000 t/a production plant should be set up,in which micro-negative pressure operation could be adopted at the calcium oxide discharge port and at tail gas exit to solve dust pollution,coal-water slurry should be used as fuel and exhaust gas waste heat must be utilized to reduce energy consumption.Moreover,using rotary kiln to calcine has many advantages,such as simple equipment structure,convenient and reliable production process control,large treatment capacity,and high degree of automation.</SPAN>
