Effects of sources and addition amount of carbon on performances of LiFePO4/C

Abstract: <FONT face=Verdana>LiFePO4/C was synthesized by different organic carbon sources (such as sucrose,citric acid monohydrate,polyvinyl pyrrolidone K30,polyethylene glycol 2000,and tartaric acid).Effects of different carbon sources on crystal structure and electrochemical performances of LiFePO4/C composite material were studied.Results showed that the kind of carbon source didn′t affect LiFePO4 material′s crystal structure but obviously affected its electrochemical performances,and the sample with sucrose as carbon source obtained the best electrochemical performances.Effects of different addition amounts of sucrose on morphology,particle size distribution,electrical conductivity,and electrochemical performances of LiFePO4/C composite material were also further studied.Results indicated that the sample with addition of sucrose as n(Fe)∶n(C)=1∶1 had small size,uniform distribution,obviously high electrical conductivity,and best electrochemical performances.First discharge specific capacity was 154.53 mA?h/g at 0.1C,which was also up to 141.14 mA?h/g at 0.5C and it was still maintained at 137.62 mA?h / g after cycling 10 times.</FONT>
