Abstract: Washing process plays an important role on quality of titanium dioxide in sulfuric acid process titanium dioxide production.Traditional process has been using vacuum leaf filter for the first and second washing equipment all the time.In recent years,with the successful application of imported membrane filter press in titanium dioxide production plant,Chinese membrane filter press producers and titanium dioxide manufacturers have been trying to make Chinese membrane filter press replace vacuum leaf filter.Titanium Dioxide Plant of CNSIC Hu′nan Zhuzhou Chemical Industry Group Co.,Ltd.was the first manufacturer totally using membrane filter press instead of vacuum leaf filter for its 30 000 t/a titanium dioxide expansion & renovation unit.Through more than two years′ improvement and running,it was proved that Chinese membrane filter press can be totally used in the first and second washing process in the production of titanium dioxide. 
