Abstract: Microwave radiation method was used for preparing powder adsorbent for drinking water defluorination.Raw material was basic magnesium carbonate and activated carbon was mixed into the raw material to enhance efficiency of microwave heating.Preparation conditions were as follows:mass ratio of activated carbon and basic magnesium carbonate was(5~7)∶8,calcination temperature was higher than 450 ℃,microwave power was 0.5~2.0 kW,and microwave processing time was more than 20 min.Static defluorination capacity of the prepared activated carbon-doped activated magnesium oxide powder was 13.11~13.29 mg/g in pH range from 5 to 9 of raw water.XRD proved that decomposition of basic magnesium carbonate in mixed materials was complete and SEM results showed that activated magnesium oxide in compound was in loose sheet form.
