Abstract: As a by-product of ferrosilicon industry,silica fume has been widely applied in the field of building  mate-rials.In the next few years,it is can be seen,by analyzing current situation of ferrosilicon industry and silica fume recycling in China,that ferrosilicon smelting industry has remarkable advantages in the northwest area,especially in Qinghai.Wet-method is largely utilized in Qinghai.Recycled wet silica fume is so largely piled up that the environment is polluted and enterprises are heavily burdened.From research progress of silica fume properties and its applying fields at home and abroad,it can be found that application and researches of silica fume property is mainly dry silica fume,however,wet silica fume has not been applied whose properties are similar to dry silica fume.Theory and experimental that strengthen on the properties of wet silica fume were put forward. 
