Abstract: <DIV>Potassium ferrate is a new high-effective multifunctional green water treating agent.There is no ideal potas-sium &nbsp;ferrate product in market because of its complicated preparation,strict operation condition,and unstability in the process of preparation,storage,and application.Progress of preparing potassium ferrate at home and abroad was summarized,and advantages and disadvantages of preparing methods were analyzing.Then studies on stability,qualitative,and quantitative of potassium ferrate were elaborating.Application of potassium ferrate in domestic water and industry wastewater was also introduced.In order to provide reference for industrial production and application of potassium ferrate,problems in practical application of potassium ferrate that need to be solved was pointed out.</DIV>
