Abstract: Mineral resource of witherite is abundant in China.Because of its excellent quality,easy processing procedure,and low production cost,witherite has attracted a wide attention nowadays.In order to make use of witherite better,industrial application and present technical situation of using it to prepare relative barium products in China were introduced.Characteristics and resource distribution of witherite in China were expounded.Technical situation of using witherite to prepare barium chloride,barium carbonate,barium hydroxide,and other barium salts and application situation of witherite in other industries at present were also analyzed systematically.Finally,utilization of witherite in China was discussed and suggestions for the research and development trend of witherite in future were put forward.
