Abstract: Iron oxide yellow pigment is affected by heat and easily changes color due to dehydration, the thermal instability of iron oxide yellow pigment limits these applications in high temperature occasions. It is very important to improve the thermal stability for iron oxide yellow pigment. The aluminium phosphate was coated on the surface of iron oxide yellow particles by liquid phase precipitation method. The effects of the technological conditions, such as pH,coating content, and temperature,of aluminium phosphate on the surface morphology and micro structure of iron oxide yellow particles were studied. The results showed that when pH=7,temperature was 65 ℃,and the  coating content  of  aluminium phosphate was 13%,the coating re- sult was the best.In addition, the heat-resistant was measured by the color difference method. The iron oxide yellow coated with aluminium phosphate showed a good performance of heat-resistant property.
