Abstract: The traditional heating oxidation roasting experiment research with acid soluble titanium slag as the raw material was carried out.The influences of different roasting temperature and holding time on the contents of titanium dioxide, carbon, and sulfur in the samples were investigated. The results indicated that: with the increase of roasting temperature, because the low valence titanium,Fe,and FeO took place oxidation reactions, and made the total amount of sample increase but the over- all titanium content did not change,so the content of TiO2 decreased;with the increase of holding time, the content of TiO2 decreased continuously because the reactions of each component became more thoroughly;investigated the influences of different roasting temperatures and holding times on carbon and sulfur contents in the samples, the results showed that with the increase of temperature and holding time, carbon and sulfur removal effect was obvious, and the contents decreased with temperature and time increase.
