Research progress of preparation of bimodal mesoporous silica

Abstract: Preparation methods of the bimodal mesoporous silica(SiO2) were summarized.The sol-gel method researched most in the studies,including single template and dual template methods.Effect of different synthesis conditions on the pore size,pore distribution,and morphology of the material was discussed.The microemulsion method,hydrothermal method,and microwave method all have been attempted to prepare the bimodal mesoporous SiO2.Comparing with dual template sol-gel method,those three methods are more simple and economic.The main research direction is to control the bimodal mesoporous pore size,pore size distribution,morphology,and the structure in the future.
