Preparation and performance study on Mg-Al-hydrotalcite

Abstract: Mg-Al-hydrotalcite was prepared by saline-alkaline co-precipitation method.The synthesized samples were analyzed and characterized by XRD,FT-IR,and particle size analysis.The effects of Mg-Al-hydrotalcite stabilizer on the static thermal aging property and static thermal stability of PVC were investigated by static thermal aging test and static thermal stability test.Results showed that Mg-Al-hydrotalcite was a good thermal stabilizer and a good thermal aging stabilizer for PVC. The best proportion of thermal stability test among PVC,stearic acid,and Mg- Al-hydrotalcite was 100∶2∶1.2(mass ratio).The best proportion of thermal aging test for PVC,DOP,stearic acid,and Mg-Al-hydrotalcite was 100∶70∶2∶2(mass ratio).
