Research progress of production technology of LiBF4  for rechargeable lithium-ion battery

Abstract: More and more lithium tetrafluoroborate(LiBF4) was used as electrolyte in rechargeable Li-ion battery because of its good thermal stability.The research progress of production technology of LiBF4 in China and abroad was introduced.The advantages and disadvantages of preparation techniques,including gas-solid reaction method,aqueous solution method,mixed solvent method,and fluorine hydride solution method of LiBF4,were discussed.Finally,development direction of LiBF4 was prospected.It was pointed out that high purity LiBF4 will be one of the research focuses in future.At the same time,the application of LiBF4 in ionic liquids,and its coordination with other new lithium salts,especially sulfonic acid salts containing fluoride would be also the focus of future research.
