Abstract: Present situation and future development trend of strontium carbonate industry in China were introduced from 4 aspects of production capacity，market demand，resource situation，and ‘three wastes’ treatment.Existing problems in the industry were pointed out and countermeasures were also put forward at the same time.Strontium carbonate manufacturers will take a heavy burden and embark on a long road for industry restructuring，because large enterprises have suffered a severe blow due to the short supply of commercial strontium ores in Chinese market.Therefore，strontium carbonate enterprises should step up the pace of technological progress，enhance the mining and beneficiation level，improve the recovery rate of strontium，strengthen the deep exploration of the old mine，and find a new strontium ore at the same time to provide follow-up power for the development of the industry.Furthermore，strontium manufacturers must increase investment in research of ‘three wastes’ treatment technologies，actively use new ‘three wastes’ treatment technologies，eliminate lime desulfurization process，and choose a deep ‘three wastes’ treatment technology for their own according to the actual situation.
