Research progress of anthraquinone synthesis catalyst for hydrogen peroxide

Abstract:

Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2, commonly known as hydrogen peroxide solution) is often used as bleaching agent and disinfectant due to its strong oxidability.Meanwhile, it is also used as chemical raw materials.At present, the main method of producing hydrogen peroxide in industry is anthraquinone method, and nearly 99% of the products in the world are obtained by the anthraquinone method.The research on catalysts with high activity, high selectivity and economic efficiency is the most challenging task in the synthesis of hydrogen peroxide.At the same time, it is also one of the research hotspots in the field of industrial catalysis.From the perspective of industrial application, noble metal catalysts with palladium as the activity are currently the most used and most mature catalysts.However, due to the high price of metal palladium, the preparation cost of the palladium catalyst is relatively high.Therefore, the research and development to reduce the cost of the catalyst has practical application value.Ruthenium and nickel catalysts have received extensive attention from researchers because of their lower price.The nickel catalyst has high activity but it is unstable;the ruthenium catalyst has good selectivity and high stability, but the activity is relatively low.In order to solve these current problems, researchers have carried out a lot of research work from the two aspects of carrier and auxiliary agents.Focusing on the production of hydrogen peroxide catalysts from anthraquinone, the research progress of various active components, carrier and auxiliary agents in anthraquinone hydrogenation catalysts was reviewed.The advantages and disadvantages of various active components were briefly discussed and the functions of various supports and promoters were summarized, so as to provide some useful enlightenment for the synthesis and preparation of hydrogen peroxide catalysts.
